Vanisha Mittal is the daughter of Indian steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal and his wife Usha Mittal. She was born on November 18, 1980, in Kolkata, India, and is the only child of the Mittal family.
Vanisha studied business at the European Business School in London and then worked at various positions in her family's companies, including ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker.
In 2004, Vanisha made headlines when she married investment banker Amit Bhatia in one of the most expensive weddings in history, which reportedly cost $60 million. The wedding was held at the Palace of Versailles in France and was attended by over 1,000 guests.
Vanisha is also active in philanthropy and serves on the board of the Mittal Children's Medical Centre in London, which provides specialized medical care for children with complex conditions.
